In country areas throughout the world, people have used the best materials available to them to clothe and feed themselves. As Wales has always been known as the land with more sheep than people - how lucky to have this wonderful wool with its many qualities.
 
All the local farming folk in this area made their own quilts - from their own wool. What could be better or more natural. Families still hand down these heirlooms - treasured and still used.
From sheep to bedroom with natural wool


Sally went to a farming talk about fifteen years ago and saw how these quilts were made.  She thought it such a wonderful idea to use natural resources, instead of man made fibres, and started to make some.  

They were so popular with her own family and the farmhouse guests that she decided to start a small business - and using wool from the sheep grazing outside her window.  She is often asked what kind of wool she uses - the answer is whatever the breeds she and her neighbour graze.  Just like her predecessors at Gaer Farm.
